Illuminated Ceilings with Stretched Foil (Luxell ® ) PDF Print E-mail
Museum Schmloss NeuburgIn contrast to illuminated ceilings with glass inlays Rentex offers a solution for stretched foil as light diffusor known in the market under the brand name Luxell ®. This method of diffusing the light creates a totally different perception of the room.

The basic difference is that the foil is clamped alonge the edges into special profiles. While heated up the foil becomes soft and flexible an stetches itself flat and tense like a drumhead while cooling down.

The foil is produced in coils and allows the production of large illuminated ceilings in one piece. Applying a grid is not necessary but can of course be done for aesthetic reasons.

The Pros of Illuminated Ceilings with Stretched Foil:

  • Very light (210 g/m2), no complex structure necessary
  • Large areas in one piece possible (up to 80 m2). The strips from the coil are high frequency soldered and finally customised for the individual project
  • Very fast assembly on the site
  • 3-dimensional shapes possible

Properties of the Foil:

  • The fabric is free of: cadmium, mercury, slicone, halogens, PCP and PCB. The residual concentration of vinyl chloride is under 1 ppm. The fabric contains under 1% barium and zinc. If the fabric is used in conditions according to regulations no thermical disintegration is detetcted.
  • Fire Class B1, according to DIN 4102
